10 Easy Ways to Practice Gratitude
In our last blog, we explored a few rewards that come from recognizing the positive aspects of your life. Check out these ten easy ways to practice gratitude.
Find something you are thankful for each day and create a gratitude list. Add to it regularly.
Notice the beauty in nature each day. At times we forget the beauty around us as we focus on the mundane of the day.
Spend quality time with people who nourish your soul. Nurture the valuable relationships you have; good friends don’t come along every day.
Listen to music that inspires you.
Tell someone you love them and how much you appreciate them.
Watch inspiring videos that will remind you of the good in the world.
Surround yourself with positive quotes and images.
Include an act of kindness in your life each day- volunteer for a helpful organization, buy a stranger coffee, take a friend for a meal, etc.
Avoid negative media and movies with destructive content.
Write a card or say thank you to someone. Thank the people who you care about--- a friend, family member, or someone that serves in the community (the shopkeeper, the bus drivers, etc.)
Commit to one day a week when you won’t complain about anything.
