Hi! I am, Drew!

I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate. I am an advocate, working with individuals, couples, and families to address guilt, intrusive thoughts, anger, self-esteem, relational and unresolved childhood trauma, and codependency.

I also extensively trained in working with perinatal and postpartum-related mental health (anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD), parenting/co-parenting issues, and lack of connection due to intimacy issues.

I am a source of support to help clients cope with all different life transitions, feel supported in their mental health needs, and know it’s okay not to be okay all of the time. I want you to feel confident engaging in the relationships that matter to you and learn how to show up for yourself effectively. As your therapist, I strive to collaborate with you so you can expand your sense of self, feel empowered to ask questions, set new boundaries, and have the confidence to form your own solutions.

Drew Richard, LMFT Associate

I empathize with the overwhelming feeling of balancing multiple roles and experiencing life’s up and downs. My goal is to provide a warm environment that offers emotional safety, comfortability, and the push needed to access and expand parts of your story where you want to see personal growth. I provide trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+ affirmative care and utilize emotion focused, strength-based, attachment, and collaborative approaches to help you develop a range of tools to help you face challenges and transition into new phases of your life.

  • Opening Space

Change begins with a story and these stories organize our experiences and shape behavior. You are the stories that you tell. As a therapist, I aim to help make room for possibilities and expand your sense of self within your narrative. With life’s highlights and challenges, each layer and role in your life makes you uniquely you. My goal is to provide a safe space for you to manage the ups and downs so your story is not so problem saturated and be able to tell it in a positive light.

  • Passenger Seat

Therapy can seem dull and so serious; it doesn’t have to be. It helps to explore difficult topics when therapy is more hands-on, expressive, and immersive. I believe that each person that sits in front of me is an expert of their experiences, and I am a source of support as you process emotions, understand your strengths, and discovering your own solutions. Taking the driver seat may seem scary but I am happy to accompany in the ride of your personal growth and learning to trust yourself.

  • Community

The overwhelming feelings that come with trauma, parenting, blended families, developmental struggles, and mental well-being can seem unbearable and lonely. In group therapy, you can safely process thoughts and feelings, talk with others who understand the unique challenges and struggles, and engage in intentional expression of thoughts and emotions. As a facilitator, each session is designed to provide the extra needed support and provide a toolkit to help manage impacts of various issues.

  • More About Me

When I am not working, you will most likely find me with my spouse and kiddos! Music and food have a special place in my heart, so I try my best not to make too much of a mess while I’m creating a routine while cooking dinner. I have a huge creative spirit and if I can DIY it, that’s typically the route for me! I am bold and outgoing but love to enjoy the comfort of my home when I can.
